About the Trade Show

BFSHOW is the leading showcase for Brazilian footwear. A meeting point for the footwear industry and national and international buyers, the event creates opportunities for connection so clients can discover the diversity and quality of “Made in Brazil.” Footwear brands for women, men, children, and sports, from different sizes and production hubs, present all the strengths of the Brazilian footwear industry — the biggest in the West.

Developed in response to a market demand, the event has two annual editions dedicated to launching the collections of the Brazilian footwear industry. Organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, the trade show — which held its first edition in the city of Porto Alegre before moving to São Paulo — is the biggestevent in the sector in Latin America.

WHO MAKES IT

The Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) is the entity that represents the Brazilian footwear industry, the fourth largest footwear producer in the world and the biggest in the West. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Novo Hamburgo, Abicalçados includes companies of all sizes among its members, representing more than 75% of the total pairs produced in the country. The entity represents an industry that directly employs more than 290,000 people. NürnbergMesse Brasil is one of the three largest event and exhibition organizers in Brazil. A subsidiary of the NürnbergMesse Group, it promotes the most important business events in Latin America, bringing together suppliers, distributors, and resellers from various sectors of the economy. The company’s purpose is to support the development of Brazilian industry and strengthen the country’s relevance in the international market. Among the main events promoted in Brazil are Expo Revestir, Haus Decor Show, PET South America, Glass South America, E-squadria Show, ABRAFATI SHOW, Construlev Expo, Catarina Aviation Show and BFSHOW.

The idea did not emerge overnight; it has been in development for quite some time. However, it was in the first half of 2021 that we conducted a survey to hear from footwear industry and retail entrepreneurs about their perception of physical trade shows in a post-pandemic scenario, particularly regarding the ideal location, dates, and editions. Based on the results of this research, we launched the Brazilian Footwear Trade Show. It was a request from the market.

The BFSHOW has established itself as the leading meeting point for the footwear industry in Latin America and a reflection of the strength of the Brazilian sector. More than a trade show, the event is a strategic platform that connects brands, buyers, and professionals from different markets, driving business, relationships, and development throughout the entire production chain. In the 6th edition, we brought together 350 Brazilian brands and further expanded our international presence, reinforcing the leadership, creativity, and competitiveness of Brazilian footwear on the global stage.
